In somewhat better news than usual, a suspected thief was sentenced to communal labor by residents in Columbia, Takoradi.
Instead of the brutal mob justice that is meted out to suspected thieves, often leading to death, this alleged thief was “slightly” beaten and then forced to clean the gutters in the neighborhood. A rope was also tied around him like a slave, to block any chance of escape, pretty inhumane in our books.
He went stealing at Columbia in Takor[a]di but it was a bad night for him, he was caught and this was his sentence after some slight beating this morning.Next time!
